In early April, Mentawai gave us fun barrels and easy-to-ride waves again. The mornings were glassy and led to long, playful surf sessions. The steady swell lit up the reefs and brought the kind of waves surfers dream about. Each day had its own highlight, from hollow tubes to smooth, open faces. It was a great reminder of why this place always feels special, year after year. Once again, we found plenty of empty lineups and had the waves all to ourselves.
